Celebrate July 4th with Breakfast in the Courtyard

Independence Day is a time to celebrate our nation’s birthday!  For some, it’s a day of attending their town’s 4th of July parade, gathering at their neighborhood block party, enjoying a picnic in the park, or just chillin’ by the pool while the men man the BBQ.  And let’s not forget the fireworks that light up our skies at night!  After all, that’s how America lights her birthday candles!!!

However, before you head out the door, it’s important to have a light breakfast.  Besides, you want to save room for the watermelon, hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ ribs and apple pie with homemade ice cream that will come later in the day.  I don’t know about you, but those foods just taste better on the 4th of July.

It’s a big day with lots of food on the menu, so let’s start the morning off with something light.  Berries are in season right now, so it’s only fitting to serving them on the 4th.  Mix fresh raspberries and blueberries together and paired them with some cottage cheese, as it fits well with our red, white and blue theme.  You could substitute yogurt for the cottage cheese, if you prefer. Then add a buttery croissant because it’s a little more sophisticated than toast.

Instead of orange juice, consider using Simply Tropical Juice because it’s delicious and will make your taste buds dance!

Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.”  None of the disciples ventured to question Him, “Who are you?” knowing that it was the Lord.  Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them…  This was the third time Jesus was manifested to the disciples, after He was raised from the dead.  John 21:12-14
