Apple Gift Basket Ideas
I’ll never forget the first time I visited the Apple Farm Inn in San Luis Obispo, CA. My sister, Cindy, had discovered and stayed at this charming Country Inn when she took a trip up the coast of California. She was so impressed with the hotel – she sent us a postcard of their lobby. Mind you, we lived about three hours away from the area, so initially, it wasn’t a big deal. However, after seeing the beautiful picturesque lobby from the postcard, I knew I wanted to stay there one day! My sister and I decided to take a weekend trip during the fall when the weather turned cool. That way, we could really savor their hot apple cider, which they serve year-round in their lobby.
Arriving at the Inn, the hotel was just as quaint and charming as the postcard I had seen earlier.
That weekend while watching television, I dropped the remote control on the floor. No matter how much I searched the slightly lit room, I was unable to find it! In the morning, as I was making the bed (yes, you read that correctly. I’m a neat freak, so I make my “hotel” bed. Crazy, but housekeeping loves me!), I came across the remote control. Apparently, it had fallen under the bed and was enveloped in-between the bed-skirt and bedding. When I lifted up the comforter, there it was. So I got down on the floor to grab it, when I noticed a sign under the bed. Yes, a sign. I thought it was a bit odd. Seriously, how many times have you seen a sign under your hotel bed? Scratch that, how many of you dare look under your hotel bed? Honestly, I’m not so sure I want to see what’s underneath there! However, in this case, I happened to locate the remote control and wanted to put it back on the nightstand. But that little sign had gotten my attention and I was so curious to know what was written on it, that I took a closer look. It read, ‘Yes, we do clean under here, too!’ I started laughing. My sister, who was nearby getting ready said, “What are you laughing at?” I replied, “Come here, you’ve got to see this!” We laughed about it for days.
Over the years, we have enjoyed countless visits to the Apple Farm Inn. However, you don’t have to visit the Apple Farm Inn to enjoy the apple harvest – although I’m sure they’d love to have you. You can celebrate fall by putting together your own beautiful apple inspired gift basket(s). They make great friendship gifts, housewarming gifts, as well as welcome baskets for out-of-town guests.
