We created this Dominos® serving tray for our New Year’s Eve Game Night Party (see link below). Although, it can be used for multiple uses, it’s an elegant tray to serve your drinks on. Champagne anyone?
Dominos® Serving Tray
1 unfinished serving tray
1 can of spray paint*
2 packages of white plastic Dominos® game pieces
Sand paper, plastic and painters tape
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
1 bottle of acrylic paint (optional)*
*We used gold spray paint (tray) and gold acrylic paint (dots on dominoes) for our serving tray.
Sand any rough edges of the unfinished serving tray. Dust off any loose pieces.
Lay plastic on area where you’re going to paint. Tape corners of the plastic with painters tape. Place serving tray on painting surface. Spray paint your serving tray. Allow time to dry. You may need a second coat of paint. Once completely dry, turn over and do the remaining side repeating steps above.
Take the painted serving tray and place the Dominos® in a pattern that you like. Remove Dominos® and heat your glue gun. Once the glue gun is heated, take one Domino at a time and add glue to the back and stick it to the serving tray. Continue the process until you’ve place all the full sized Dominos® in place.
Take a Domino and measure the space needed to fill in the edge. Once marked, use a tile cutter to cut the Dominos® to fit in the remaining edges of the serving tray. Glue the remaining Dominos® around the edges to fill all the spaces on the serving tray.
Place beverages on top and enjoy your Dominos® serving tray!
