Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, we wanted to create a fall harvest table setting using the color pink – the color that symbolizes breast cancer. We painted artificial pumpkins pink and white, but the table needed some leaves to scattered around. We purchased some artificial leaves and painted them pink to match our table décor. We titled our table Harvest of Hope!
Harvest of Hope Leaves
- Artificial leaves
- Acrylic paint- light & dark shade of pink
- Glitter paint in silver
- Metallic silver shred
- Paper plate
- Paint brush
Use a paper plate to squeeze your paint onto. Take a wet paint brush and paint all your leaves a light shade of pink. Once dried, use a darker shade of pink (such as magenta) and mix it with water to “float” the color over the leaves, paying close attention to the creases in the leaves. Continue to reapply to get the desired look (be sure to keep some leaves lighter and some darker to create a contrast). Once dried, apply the glitter paint to the top of all your leaves adding sparkle to them. Scatter leaves across your table and sprinkle metallic silver shred on top for added sparkle!
