Parmesan, Garlic, & Artichoke Bread (PGA Bread)
My dad loved to golf, so we all grew up learning the game. PGA stands for Professional Golfers Association. However, for our Holiday Par-Tee (see link below) we put a different spin on it and came up with our delicious Parmesan, Garlic & Artichoke Bread. They’re really good!
Parmesan, Garlic, & Artichoke Bread (PGA Bread)
Makes 6 servings
Ingredients
1 14-ounce can artichoke hearts, drained
2 garlic cloves
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup toasted almonds
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, divided
1/3 cup olive oil
1 loaf of French bread
Preheat oven to 350°. In a food processor combine artichokes, garlic, basil, Parmesan, almonds, lemon zest and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Turn processor on, adding olive oil while running until mixture is smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread mixture on top of bread. Sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese over top if desired. Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.
