For many years, our mom battled breast cancer before it ended her life. Since October is breast cancer awareness month, we wanted to create something special. If you know someone who is a survivor, currently battling cancer, or someone who has been affected by cancer in some way and needs to have their spirits lifted, we’ve put together a beautiful fall tablescape with a pink and white breast cancer theme, titled A Harvest of Hope.
Keeping with our breast cancer theme, we painted artificial pumpkins pink and white and then added some bling!
In the Fall, leaves change their colors from shades of green to hues of yellow, orange, and red. For our Harvest of Hope table, we painted leaves with different shades of pink and added a touch of glitter on top to represent a sparkle of hope.
Placemats and Napkins
Purchase fabric or fabric squares with a pink and white pattern* (available where ever fabric is sold). Using regular scissors, cut fabric into 13”h by 19”w for the placemats and 18”h by 18”w for the napkins. Pin and sew a ½ inch hem around the edges for the napkins. For the placemats, sew pink rick-rack trim around the edge.
You may use fabric tape/glue to hem the placemats and napkins (follow directions on the label). Or for an easier, more casual look, use pinking shears to cut your fabric.
* We used fabric with a breast cancer theme for our napkins.
We made handmade tags for our napkin rings. Click on the link below for the DIY instructions.
At each place setting, we placed wrapped mints with the breast cancer logo to carry out our theme.
