Let’s have some fun and throw a party…Party Politics.
Electing the next President of the United States of America is one of the most important decisions our country makes, so please use sound judgement before casting your vote at the ballot box. Regardless of which candidate or party you support, we thought we’d have some fun. So we created Party Politics – a festivity “We the People” not only can relate to, but sometimes, snicker about.
Welcome to the Rose Garden.
For our Executive Branch, we created mini yulelogs (branch), placed them on a cake plate and created a beautiful rose garden around it. Using Ho Ho’s, we cut off the ends to give the appearance of a mini yulelog. Small vases were filled with red roses and baby’s breath and placed around the raised cake plate. We then added a mini white picket fence to create our Rose Garden.
Checks and Balances
It’s important that our government (and our party) have checks and balances. Guests love to nibble on snacks and who can refuse our red, white and blue Chex mix. We used a standard Chex mix and added red, white and blue M&Ms.
There seems to be a lot of red tape in government, so please eat up. We took red fruit roll-ups and sliced them into small strips. Then we thread them through a toothpick making it easy for our guests to grab.
We filled small bowls with salad to represent the grass roots movement.
Canned Beans and Pulled Pork Sandwiches
We purchased baked beans in mini cans because, too often, the can gets kicked down the road. They pair well with our pulled “pork” sandwiches.
Left and Right Wing Chicken
This party is for everyone. See our “left wing” and “right wing” chicken wings get along just fine together. Maybe it has something to do with the “secret service” sauce.
These imPEACHment drinks will quench your thirst. We used white grape juice and added a sliced frozen peach. We decorated the glasses with red and white twine and added a red and white striped straw.
The bible says, “a bribe corrupts the heart” (Ecc. 7:7b). However, these bribes will satisfy your sweet tooth. Your guests will have a hard time saying no to them.
Every politician loves payday and so will your guests. Be sure to hand them out when your guests leave your party.
Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore he who resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God. Romans 13:1-2a
