Patriotic Songs and Images to Inspire Your 4th of July
Linda’s son, Peter, loves to travel and he recently took a trip to Washington D.C. Some of the photos below are from his trip to our nation’s capital, as well as a few other personal photos. He’s the one holding the U.S. flag while wearing a pair of cowboy boots. He loves country music, but it’s rare to see him in cowboy boots. He’s more of a California surfer with a college degree from the University of Southern California! Oh yes, his momma is proud of him (and his brother, Chris)!

Oh, beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea.
♥ Lyrics from America the Beautiful ♥
So raise the banner, called Old Glory
Let us join our fellow man
History will write the story,
America will always stand.
♥ Lyrics from America Will Always Stand ♥
Cause the flag still stands for freedom
and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American
where at least I know I’m free,
And I won’t forget the men who died
who gave that right to me.
♥ Lyrics from God Bless the U.S.A. ♥
All gave some and some gave all
And some stood through for the red, white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties
And recall, some gave all.
♥ Lyrics from Some Gave All ♥
Country road, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia
Mountain mamma, take me home
Country road.
♥ Lyrics from Take Me Home Country Road ♥
Building a nation is awful tough.
The people found the going rough.
Some lived in cities, some worked the land,
And united they did stand, to make our country grand.

This land is your land, this land is my land
From the California to the New York island
From the Redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me.
♥ Lyrics from The Land was Made for You and Me ♥
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Now the whole damned bus is cheerin’
And I can’t believe I see
A hundred yellow ribbons round the ole oak tree
I’m comin’ home
Tie a ribbon ’round the ole oak tree
♥ Lyrics from Tie a Yellow Ribbon ♥
From the mountains
To the prairies
To the oceans
White with foam
God bless America
My home sweet home.
