In the Spotlight with Little White Dish
Interior designer, Rachel Kay, created Little White Dish because she loved to decorate, entertain and host parties. She wanted to use her talents and expertise, so she started the online business two years ago. Selling online gave Rachel a lot of flexibility and allowed her to reach a larger audience than opening a brick and mortar store. However, a retail store is still a goal of hers.
She came up with Little White Dish because she loved the versatility and simplicity of a plain white plate that could be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. It was a huge undertaking as she worked with importers, but struck a nice balance. Their dishes have the look of fine china, but are very unique. They are extremely durable and chip resistant, yet lightweight. They come in a variety of shapes and styles, which sets them apart from other retailers.
Their burger plate is their most popular item. As Rachel says, “It elevates the ordinary.” The plate can be used for numerous purposes, such as a variety of sliced apples with a warm caramel dipping sauce, a delicious Panini sandwich with a side salad, or a slice of homemade apple pie with some French vanilla ice cream. The possibilities are endless!
Another popular item is their soup bowls and lids. We chose to feature them in our 2017 Fall issue (above). We thought they were beautiful and loved the idea of having a lid to keep one’s soup warm. You just don’t see that in other dinnerware. We also thought it would be fun and festive to decorate the lid with a homemade tag. It sets the meal apart from the ordinary and makes your guests feel welcomed.
Even if you already own a set of white dishes you can still add some unique pieces to your collection to create different looks. Their dinnerware is sold separately, so you can mix and match them with other pieces from their collection. Or begin with a Little White Dish collection and add as your budget allows. That’s the versatility of their dinnerware.
They are currently working on new styles and are considering adding colored dishes to their collection, so stay tuned. They are offering You’re Invited Magazine readers a 15% discount. To take advantage of this savings, type in YIM15 upon checkout. You can’t beat that!
